We are once again in the wonderful Hebrew Month of ELUL. The unique 29-day period of time each year dedicated to reflecting, and renewing our love relationship with King Jesus.
In Jewish tradition, Elul is the month of the Love Song:
“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” (Song of Solomon 6:3).
Elul is the time when the Jewish people liken God to a King who leaves His royal palace and comes into the field in order to meet with His people – to hear their hearts, and answer their petitions.
It is believed that Elul is the time of year – God Himself – is closer than any other time. This is the month to ask the King of Kings for everything you need!
Here is a delightful music video created to show the wonderful parable of the King Is In The Field – young Ari Raskin is searching for the King – so that He can ask Him ANYTHING HE DESIRES!
Because Ari understands this is the time of the year when God is closer and listening carefully to all we need and desire to share with Him – he searches throughout the city for the King. (Watch “The King is the Field” Music Video)
As Christians, we understand our King Jesus is always available to listen, love us, and hear our needs and requests, however, it is good to be reminded that our Christian Jesus – is really the Messiah of Israel – who lives & moves according to God’s Hebrew – biblical calendar – Not the Western, “Christian” Gregorian Calendar, which was created around celebrating Easter, and effectively sweeping away all residue of the Jewish, biblical Feasts of The Lord.
I encourage you friend, spend some special time this Elul with your Beloved King Jesus. There is much going on in our day, and many voices in the Body of Christ are declaring we are in for difficult times ahead.
God would have us prepared for the days ahead. He is waiting for you at the King’s table (Songs 1:12) Enjoy!
ELUL Is the Yearly Call to WAKE UP! WAKE UP!
RETURN! REPENT! PREPARE!
The Lord Himself draws closer to us in this season of the year – in order to fortify us with His love – and prepare us for the days ahead.
It is understood, taught and anticipated that Messiah will come at the time of the High Holy Days of the Fall Feasts.
Therefore – shofars are blown all over Israel every day of “ELUL” as a reminder to wake up – and get your heart ready for the appearing of the Lord.
Elul is the month when the bride (God’s people) prepares herself for her bridegroom (God) TO COME AND GET HER FOR THE WEDDING FEAST!
Jesus instructed us to WATCH & PRAY – and not let that day overtake us like a thief (Matthew 24:41-43). He warned us that the time of His coming would be a time of great deception, tribulation, persecution and false prophets.
Jesus said,“See to it that no one misleads you…” (Matt 24:4a) He puts the responsibility of not being mislead on our shoulders as His disciples. Then, He proceeds to describe in great detail what will surround the days of His coming; see Matthew 24 – 25.
ELUL – THE LOVE SONG MONTH OF INTIMACY & OIL
Jesus warned that just before His coming the Kingdom of Heaven would be likened to ten virgins; five wise and five foolish.
“The Bridegroom was late, so they ALL went to sleep. It was the middle of the night when the cry rang out, ‘The bridegroom is here! Go out to meet him!’ (Matt 25:5-6).
These are AMAZING days to be alive! AND AWAKE! AND FULL OF OIL!!!
Now is the time to sit with Jesus – and ask Him for an “oil check.”
How is your supply of oil?
Oil is the ready fuel of joy in God’s presence that sees us through the most difficult challenges – and also fills our heart with the joy and wonder of God’s personal, bright burning love for us!
TODAY IS THE DAY FOR OIL!!!
Elul is the PERFECT season – DESIGNED BY GOD – to prepare us for the coming of the Lord.
Take some time right now – and schedule time with Jesus. Just do it. You will not regret it!
THE KING IS IN THE FIELD! Go out and meet Him!
