Building Our “TRUST” Account

What does it look like to build a “Trust Account” with God?

Abraham trusted God’s promise that he would become the father of nations and God credited Abraham’s “account” as righteousness.

“Abraham put his TRUST in God, and it was CREDITED TO HIS ACCOUNT as Righteousness” (Romans 4:3 CJB).

Every time we trust in God – He “credits” our “account” as an act of righteousness!

And every time we trust in Jesus, our TRUST ACCOUNT increases!

BECAUSE…When we trust in Jesus – We Experience Jesus as “Trustworthy.”

When we TRUST in the person and work of Jesus, we are building our house upon the ROCK.

A “Trust Account” on the ROCK of Jesus will not be destroyed when the storms of life – and the storms of this ever increasing “god-less” age – crash onto the shores of America, and into our own homes and the lives of those we love.

THERE IS “POWER” IN TRUSTING

“Abraham, did not by lack of TRUST decide against God’s promises. On the contrary, by TRUST he was GIVEN POWER as he gave glory to God, for he was fully convinced that what God had promised he could also accomplish. This is why it was credited to his account as righteousness,” (Romans 4:20-22 CJB).

God “empowers” trust. Every time Abraham chose to trust God, even though it was taking decades to come to pass, God gave him power – AND – credited Abraham as righteous. In the same way – every time we choose to trust God, and give God glory for His faithfulness, we are made stronger. Our Trust Account increases. And we certainly need a strong Trust Account in this present age, as it appears darkness is increasing all over the earth.

There are Three Types of PROMISES that Build our TRUST ACCOUNT & EMPOWER our lives:

  • The Word of God
  • Trustworthy Prophetic Promises
  • Personal Promises from God

1)     The Word of God. The promises of God as laid out in Scripture are absolute. And there are many. You’ve probably heard people use the phrase; “I’m standing on the promises!” referring to believing God for healing, or whatever they need, based on God’s Scriptural promises. Standing on the written promises of God are ALWAYS a sure foundation!

The Word of God is sure and absolute. Knowing the Word of God, spending time “digesting” the truth God has laid out in His written word, is vital to increasing our “Trust Account.” The bible is the story of God’s redemption from beginning to end. We see God’s faithfulness in fulfilling His promise to send a redeemer through the seed of Abraham; Yeshua our Messiah. And through our faithful Messiah,  we see the living embodiment of the character and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father. God is Trustworthy because He sent us Jesus to save us to the uttermost!

ALL THE PROMISES OF GOD ARE “YES & AMEN” In JESUS OUR MESSIAH

“As surely as God is TRUSTWORTHY, we don’t say “Yes” when we mean “No.” For the Son of God, the Messiah Yeshua, who was proclaimed among you, with him it is always “Yes.” For however many PROMISES God has made, they ALL find their “Yes” in connection with him; that is why through him we say the “Amen” when we give glory to God. Moreover, it is God who sets both us and you in firm union with the Messiah; he has anointed us, put he seal on us, and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee for the future” (2 Cor 2:18-22 CJB).

Jesus is the embodiment of all of God’s promises past, present and future. Jesus is worthy of our trust. Now and forever more.

2)    The Promises of “Trustworthy” Prophetic Words.

Paul instructs Timothy to fight the fight of faith with the prophetic promises he received;

“This charge, son Timothy, I put to you, in keeping with the prophecies already made about you, so that by these prophecies you may fight the good fight, armed with TRUST and a good conscience. By rejecting conscience, some have made shipwreck of their TRUST,” (1 Tim 18-19 CJB).

We see here it is possible to suffer “shipwreck” in our trust. When we trust in the wrong things – for example – our job, money, other people, or our own self-sufficiency, we will suffer shipwreck because we are trusting in “things” rather than in God. When we trust in the PERSON of Jesus, who He is, what He has done, and what He will do when He returns to the earth, we are adding to our Trust Account. And when there is SOLID trust in the person of Jesus – we will not be easily shaken when the storms and challenges of our faith arise.

Building a Trust Account with the personal prophecies we have received – is actually using these words of promise in our prayer life. And In our daily, living walk of faith. When the storms come – or when years pass without seeing the promises we believe we have received from the Lord come to pass, choosing trust in Jesus Himself, goes a LONG way toward keeping off those rocky shores of shipwreck.

Applying faith and trust to those promises we have received through prophetic ministry, does bring them about – in God’s perfect timing.

3)     Personal Promises from The Lord. The more time we spend in the presence of the Lord, seeking to learn His voice, the more He will share His heart with us. And most especially, He will share how He sees us. He will speak words of love, affirmation, and when necessary correction.

Remember, it is the kindness of the Lord that leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4) God never condemns us. God’s correction brings about peace, understanding, and deeper intimacy with Him. Always a wonderful thing.

Trust in Jesus results in righteousness in our heart, in our thinking, and in our lives. When we trust Jesus, and allow His Spirit to work in our lives, we become a “trustworthy” witness to the living, saving, power of God. Others will want to know about your Trust Account, when they see it working in your life.

Jesus’ Personal Affirmations: Through the years of seeking an intimate, close relationship with Jesus, He has spoken many wonderful words of endearment to me. I have been able to compile these beautiful, personal affirmations and use them to bolster my faith and trust when the enemy seeks to knock me down. In those times when it seems God is far from me – I repeat to myself – and to any devil listening – what Jesus has spoken to me – about me – for me  – and my whole countenance turns to joy, and my trust account increases. Jesus is JOY! Jesus is love. Jesus is crazy in love with us. Honestly – He is. Trust me!

Now, timing is the tricky part. It can take years for us to experience a break through in some of the things we are praying for. So, like Abraham, we need to learn patience. God’s promises are always worthy of our solid, enduring trust. However, God’s timing is NEVER clearly laid out to us.

Most of the time, when I am anxious to hear regarding a specific incident, the Lord draws me to His heart to trust Him. God does not reveal timing, nor does He reveal specifics, or details of how He is going to answer a request. Always, He instructs me to trust Him, to draw near to Him, to know His heart and His ways. And when I trust in Him – I am never disappointed!

Enjoy building your “Trust Account” Beloved – it is so worth it!
