Hi & Welcome!
My name is Michele M. Rizzo and I’m passionate about loving Jesus, and helping others grow in their own love relationship with Him.
I love participating with the Holy Spirit in the healing, transforming work of Jesus. I’m an ordained minister, speaker, teacher and writer.
Years ago when the Lord called me into public ministry, I created a visual teaching demonstration entitled: BEAUTY FOR ASHES, based on Is 61:1-3.
I used a large, wooden cross representing the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, and a mannequin named “Eve” who stood in for all – fallen humanity.
Beauty for Ashes is a visual teaching demonstration of the journey of reconciliation in Jesus.
BEAUTY FOR ASHES – Part One:
“The Law of Sin and Death”
In part one of BEAUTY FOR ASHES – I layer Eve, with the symbols of sin and addiction.
In part one – I teach about how we are born into a sinful world full of pain, loss and sorrow. And due to this pain we are wounded, and wound others.
In order to cope with life’s intense pain and loss, we build walls to hide behind to protect ourselves. We use a wide array of coping mechanisms such as social media, career, alcohol, drugs and sex, to mask the pain.
The Wonder Woman mask covering Eve’s face here represents the “mask” we wear to hide our inner pain. We pretend all is well, while on the inside we are suffering from deep shame and emotional turmoil.
As a teacher, I use visual demonstrations and props to teach the concepts of the bible, and life’s drama.
Here I hold up a telescope signifying the tunnel vision we see the world through, when we are not looking through the eyes of God’s love and accepting grace.
The rocks and chain around my neck here represents the lies we believe that keep us locked in hurtful behavior patterns. Only the love of Jesus and the truth of His cross can bring lasting deliverance and healing from inner pain.
BEAUTY FOR ASHES – Part Two
Redemption at the Cross of Jesus Christ.
In Part Two, I take all the symbols of death, sin, wounds and addictions that I layered upon Eve in Part One – and place them on the Cross of Jesus.
The visual impact of seeing all the wounds, addictions and weapons of self-protection taken off of Eve and placed on the cross of Jesus Christ has helped audience participants envision the truth of their own sin placed on the cross of Jesus. The truth of this powerful visual demonstration has helped transform many people’s lives from the ashes of abuse – into the Beauty and Healing of the Cross of the Lord Jesus Christ.
BEAUTY FOR ASHES, Is 61:1-3
The Good News of Salvation
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who arebound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified (NKJV)
Jesus is love. His grace, mercy and forgiveness enable us to heal and overcome along the journey of faith and trust. Wounds, trials and challenges are inevitable. Yet, He invites us to come to Him and learn of His gentle, humble heart. Rest and ease of our burden is His promise when we are united with Him (Matt 11:29-10).
As a teacher – I always pray and seek the Lord’s heart for each particular congregation, church or ministry I am invited to minister at.
