TODAY – Passover & Good Friday – The One New Man (Part Three Passover Series)

Jesus donkeyToday Is Good Friday, the day all of Christendom remembers and honors Jesus’ suffering and death upon the Cross of Calvary.

Today is also Erev Pesach – the Eve of Passover. The very night that Yeshua (Jesus) celebrated Passover with His disciples and instituted the New Covenant in His body and blood (1Cor 11:23-25).

TODAY is the perfect day of celebration for the One New Man (Eph. 2:11-16).  Messianic Jews and Gentiles  – united  – celebrating the Passover Seder. Both groups as one, celebrating and remembering our Blessed Redeemer Yeshua, our Passover Lamb.

Just now as I wrote the word TODAY for the fourth time – I am reminded of this warning, Today, if you hear His voice, harden not your hearts,” (Hebrews 3:15; 4:7).

TODAY is a new day of revelation that Jews are to live as Jews – even after receiving Jesus as Messiah. And, Gentiles are not called to be Jews. Both are one in Jesus. Together we celebrate the biblical feasts of the Lord as laid out by God in the Torah. Continue reading

The “Mockers” of March! (Part One in Passover Series)

irish monkeyThe “Madness” of March is Real – And it is not due to college basketball season, or spring sales!

It is due to the spiritual energy and contention of “mocking” that increases in the spirit realm, just prior to Passover every year.

It took me some years to recognize this March pattern. When I saw I had recorded the word “CRASHED” in both my 2012 and 2013 journals, on the exact same date of March 12th –  it was time to seek God for answers!

And answers He has begun to reveal!

March is the month when the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness fight for spiritual advancement on the earth! Continue reading

The Lord called her, “Mrs. Valiant!”

valiantAnd she began to weep…

He went on to say,

“Devoted, endearing, steadfast and true,”

And she melted into my arms.

I held her as she sobbed in wonder – daring to believe – “This is how Jesus sees me? Mrs. Valiant? Not Much Afraid?” Oh yes He does!

Now, imagine being called valiant by God. How joyous! Exhilarating! Powerful! Not to mention a huge relief if we’ve been seeing ourselves as Much Afraid*!

When God speaks, we are transformed, empowered – and propelled into destiny. Continue reading

The Comparison “Crash…”

compare kids icecream“Compare Yourself NOT with Another!”

Sound advice Jesus has spoken to me several times…

Comparison is a deadly snare.

When we compare ourselves to others we end up either better than, or less than. Never a good thing (2 Cor 10:12).

Recently, I was triggered into the “crash of comparison,” by a Facebook post that hit up against the deep inner belief system that somehow I missed God. My greatest fear. Continue reading

Kaleidoscope Eyes

Imagine, a girl with kaleidoscope eyes…

She looks out and sees perfectly clear.

Yet her kaleidoscope eyes are filters to her soul.

They take the purest of God’s light, and the loveliest of another’s intentions, and twist them to fit her own understanding…

Not what is. Not what could be. Not what others want for her. And, certainly not what God desires for her.

All of this is instant. Automatic. Unknown to her.

Jesus said, “The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!”  (Matt 6:22-24).

girl kaleidoscopeUsing “kaleidoscope eyes” as a metaphor – imagine for a moment that every experience in life, enters into the “eyes” of our soul and becomes a kaleidoscope telescope from which we perceive and relate to the world, God and ourselves. Continue reading

My Shabbat Testimony

A friend is teaching about the Feasts of the Lord and Shabbat at her church. She asked me if I would write out my testimony regarding Shabbat. I was happy to do this – and decided to share it here…

In January 2011, I had the joyful privilege of traveling to Israel to spend a week in Jerusalem with dear friends. While booking my flight, a Jewish travel agent wanted me to land in Tel Aviv on Friday evening. I told her no because that was Shabbat. She asked me a question that got me thinking.

“So tell me, what does Shabbat mean to you?”

Good question. I knew what it meant to my Jewish friends. I loved sharing Shabbat dinners with them, lighting the candles and hearing them pray in Hebrew. These times were always sacred, special and meaningful. But up until then, it was all about my Jewish friends, not me. I’m not Jewish.

While in Jerusalem, my friends took me to pray in the biblical gardens of Yad HaShmona, a Messianic Moshav in the ancient hills of Judea. The Holy Spirit led us to pray Isaiah 58:13-14.

“If you watch your step on the Sabbath, and don’t use my holy day for personal advantage, If you treat the Sabbath as a day of joy, God’s holy day as a celebration, If you honor it by refusing ‘business as usual,’ making money, running here and there— Then you’ll be free to enjoy God!     Oh, I’ll make you ride high and soar above it all. I’ll make you feast on the inheritance of your ancestor Jacob.” Yes! God says so!” (Is 58:13-14 MSG).

I saw for the first time that God had not abolished the Sabbath, nor had He given it only to Jews. Honoring Shabbat came with a promise of God – to ride on high and soar above it all! To feast on the inheritance of Jacob – Astounding!

That same night we went to Sukkot Hallel – the House of Payer on Mount Zion. As we worshipped, the Lord came to me and asked me, “Will you come into My Shabbat?” Continue reading

Why Are People Leaving the Church?

leaving church

Alarming multitudes of  disillusioned, disappointed and discouraged people are leaving the church.

Not just the young, but all ages.

Otherwise, church becomes a social structure of “do’s” and “don’ts.”

A place where people learn a “system” of behavior that supposedly pleases God…

This system, when performed right, certainly pleases head pastors and church leaders, but has nothing to do with actually pleasing God. Or, knowing Jesus.

Church can become a human structure of performance, void of the living-breathing, life-transforming presence of the Holy Spirit.

We need God. Present. Healing. Transforming our lives. We need to feel and understand God loves us. Not only in words taught from the pulpit, but in and through God’s tangible presence working in and through His people.

The Business of Church? Or Jesus?

Church, without God’s presence, is business as usual. Boring. Irrelevant. Predictable. People going through the motions of what’s expected. No questions allowed. No rocking the boat of status quo.

Church business teaches the traditions and philosophy of men, which, make the Word of God of no affect (Mark 7: 7-9, Col 2:8).

Jesus not only rocked the boat of man’s traditions – He bypassed it all together and walked on water!

Jesus was the living embodiment of doing things God’s way, not man’s. The Kingdom of God, burst into the earth in Technicolor through Jesus.

Water turned to wine! The dead raised! Lepers cleansed! The blind see! The deaf hear!

Church should NEVER be boring!

The clock of human history stopped and started over with the birth of Jesus. B.C. – (Before Christ) became  A.D. – anno domini, which is Latin for; In the year of Our Lord.

People need to encounter this world-stopping Jesus! Not church business as usual. Continue reading

Prophesy – What Is God Up To?

glasses god vision small_edited-1What is God up to these days? If we don’t know, watching the evening news, coupled with listening to today’s ‘doom & gloom’  – God is mad at America – prophecies, can be a frightening experience!

“If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed!” (Proverbs 29:18 The Message).

God desires to communicate His heart, vision, and direction to His people. How?  Through the anointing of His Word, and the gifts of His Holy Spirit – especially the gift of prophecy.

“Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy!”(1Cor 14:1 NASB)

Why is prophesy so important? Because, “The testimony of Jesus, is the spirit of prophesy” (Rev 19:10). And, it is Jesus who leads His church on the earth. He builds His church, through His presence in and through His people.

Prophesy is the gift of “eyes” to God’s people. Prophesy is vision and insight to the work of service God has called us to. Individually, and corporately.

ALL are to prophesy in order to edify, encourage and comfort God’s people. And bring forth God’s Kingdom here on the earth.
