Dream Interpretation

(If you wish to submit a dream for biblical dream interpretation – go directly to the bottom of this page & complete the submission form)

God reveals in the Book of Job 33:15-18; that He personally designs dreams to operate within the psyche of the human mind while people are asleep.

Here is what God says about the importance of dreams:

“In a dream, in a vision at night, when slumber falls upon people,
as they sleep in their beds, he (God) opens people’s ears
and seals the matter with a warning, to turn a person away from his action
and protect a man from pride, so that he will keep himself away from the pit
and from perishing by the sword” (Job 33:15-18 CJB).

God personally designs dreams – because – He desires to communicate with people. God loves humanity and desires that all be saved through the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ; (John 3:16-21).

Everyone dreams. Most people are fascinated by their dreams and long to understand the mysterious language of dreams.

The “Mystery” Metaphorical Language of Dreams:

Dreams are a mystery because dreams are not literal – dreams come to us in the metaphorical ‘language’ of pictures. As the old adage says – “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Dreams are picture language that speaks volumes.

Dreams are messages that actually hold “keys” to unlock the mysteries of life. When we do not possess the “keys” to unlock the message of dreams, we miss out on the fullness of how God desires to communicate with us.

Dreams come from three sources;

  1. God
  2. The human soul; mind, will & intellect
  3. Demonic entities

Dreams and visions from God are how God communicates directly to people on earth. He is able to communicate to people through their subconscious minds.  Job 33:15-18, relates the truth that God CHOOSES to communicate to people through their dreams.

God DESIGNS dreams for the dreamer in order to reveal Himself,  exhort, warn, equip and guide people into His will. God does not only design dreams for those who already know Him – but He designs dreams to bring people to Himself because He loves humanity and wants to bring His creation into salvation and redemption.

In the bible – God gives dreams to His prophets, but not only to His prophets. God also gave dreams to others in order to lead them into His will as He fulfilled His prophetic promises to mankind.

God Himself came to the pagan king Abimelech in a dream in order to protect Abraham’s wife Sara from being defiled by the king:

“But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is married” (Gen 20:2-3 NASB).

God sent his angel to appear to Joseph in a dream when Joseph found out Mary was with child and he was about to send her away; (Matt 1:19-21).

Studying dreams and visions in the bible context is a fascinating and revelatory journey that we highly recommend.

We use a biblical dream interpretation approach when interpreting dreams.

Meaning – we believe God orchestrates and designs dreams in order to share His perspective with people.

God is creator of the universe – and He understands us and our lives in a way we cannot possibly comprehend. We need God to help unlock the mysteries that lay in our own subconscious minds.

God designs dreams to reveal what is happening in our lives, on a subconscious level, in order to bring direction and healing on a conscious level.

The Psychological Approach to Dream Interpretation

There is a lot ‘out there’ in popular secular circles regarding the psychological approach to dream interpretation –  which has been crafted from the teachings of Dr. Carl Jung and Dr. Sigmund Freud. These two men – to date – are the most influential voices in modern; secular dream studies.

Dr. Jung suggests that dreams are “doing the work of integrating our conscious and unconscious lives,” he called this the process of individuation.

In biblical dream interpretation – we believe Creator God is omnipresent and omniscient – therefore He alone sees the “whole” and knows all things. Only God’s perfect perspective is able to enlighten and guide our limited human perspective. So, God designs dreams – from the outside perspective of His perfect knowledge, in order to save people and bring them into the knowledge of His healing and saving grace.

The psychological approach to dream interpretation is juxtaposed to the biblical dream interpretation as both Jung & Freud suggest the human psyche possesses an “inner self-awareness” capable of comprehending what is best for the individual – therefore, it communicates these needs to the conscious mind through dreams.

We acknowledge there is some value to be gleaned from unlocking the subconscious mind of people who share their dreams with trained therapists. These trained individuals know what to look for to help unravel the inner issues of pain locked up inside people who have suffered trauma. This can be a good thing, however, the basic belief that all dreams stem from self-possessing inner knowledge, excludes God’s specific design for dreams.

It is our prayer to be a resource of biblical dream interpretation for people seeking God’s interpretation for their dreams.

We encourage you to write down your dreams and sit with the Lord seeking Him for the interpretation. The more we pay attention to our dreams, and spend time with the Lord seeking answers to the riddles of our dreams – the more the Lord will communicate through our dreams.

If you have a particular dream you feel is from God and you are having trouble interpreting it, send it along, and we will prayerfully see what the Lord may be saying through your dream.

  1. Write down the dream. Give your dream a title. Often the title of the dream is the meaning you will glean from the dream. If you are short of time upon waking, speak it into your phone or recording device so you will have it later to transcribe.
  2. Pray and ask the Lord to help you understand what He is communicating to you.
  3. Is the dream about you – or someone else?
  4. What were the major feelings the dream evoked?
  5. What colors – if any – were highlighted?
  6. What biblical metaphors were in the dream, i.e. angels, water, arrows, light, mountains, scrolls/books, etc.
  7. Was the dream in your real home? If so, this means there is a literal issue in your life that God desires to deal with, and is communicating this to you.
  8. What people were in your dream? People you know? If so, what does this person mean to you?
  9. What is the main action in the dream? What message does it convey?
  10. Always apply prayer to dreams – even if you only remember a snippet of the dream.

Our Dream Team – takes your dream very seriously.

Our Dream Team has been trained in biblical dream interpretation through the ministry of the late John Paul Jackson. You can check out Streams dream interpretation courses (here).

We pray through your dream and seek God’s insight. Then, we consult with one another, and when we are satisfied with what we feel the dream is saying, we send the interpretation via email along to you.

We will only post your dream & its interpretation with your permission. Your email and personal information is never shared.

Once you submit your dream – please allow a 5-7 day turn around before you hear from us.

Please note – IF YOU DO NOT HEAR FROM US within 10-14 days – please send an inquiry email to Michele: micheleriz@gmail.com.
